Krakow

This is an overdue discussion of a great travel opportunity I had to visit Krakow, Poland.  This was too great an adventure to discuss in one entry but I will do several.  Krakow is special for many reasons.  One of the luckiest is that World War II did not destroy the physical history of the city. Below is Stare Miasto, a beautiful street in Krakow in the fading light of the day.  What a special place.

Lake 3 BWCA

From August 12-15, 2010, Lail and I canoed from Lake 1 through Lake 2 to the Southeast corner of Lake 3 in the BWCA.  We spent the previous night at Fall Lake Campground which was very nice.  Lake 1 is the second most popular entry in the Boundary Waters so the short portages between Lake 1 and Lake 1 were very busy with families and various groups.  The highlight of this trip photographically was experimenting with high ISO low light shots in the evenings.

This is the westward view on the first night.  It was shot at an ISO 3200 with a Nikon D700 camera.
